Robert Robinson started carving at the age of 12, when he carved a letter opener for his teacher. He was a well known wood carver who had the ability to build ships in bottles and carve many different things by hand. His work includes various types of figures, many of which are inspired by people he knew, and his detailed boats are a favourite with collectors.
