| JEAN MARC POIRIER (1959 - ) |
| Jean Marc Poirier is an Acadian who was born in the Magdalen Islands in 1949. He spent nearly a decade living in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia. Jean Marc worked the night shift at the local fish processing plant, and filled his daytime hours making rough and colourful carvings of just about every subject imaginable. Jean Marc stopped carving for several years but after he received some encouragement from a collector he did do some carving in 2006. Jean Marc has since retired from carving, and has relocated back to the Magdalen Islands (Iles de la Madeleine). |
