Self-taught artist Don Ningewance grew up in the wilderness of Northwestern Ontario. His experiences in the wild, as an observer and outdoorsman, have allowed him to "paint what he lives and live what he paints". His paintings are noted for their subtle and sensitive use of colour, light and texture. In 1992, Ningewance was commissioned by the Bradford Exchange to create a series of six plates featuring images of wolves. He was also commissioned by Ducks Unlimited to do a limited edition print of waterfowl. The popularity of his work has won Don numerous regional awards, and continued interest by private collectors internationally.
