David Jarrell resides in North Carolina, where he works in a mill. His "creek men" which rank among the most unique contemporary outsider art pieces being created in the U.S., are made from a combination of Catawba Valley clay and concrete. He then adds paint and usually incorporates found objects. Each "creek man" is housed in a hand made cardboard box, decorated with a theme consistent with the piece itself.
