Kyle Jackson was born in Toronto in 1960. The Jackson family lived in San Francisco in the 60s, and later The Hague in the Netherlands where Kyle received his first formal art training at the Vrije Academie (International Art Lab).
Kyle s keen interest in art solidified when he met Andy Warhol at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 1974. A decade later Kyle came to Nova Scotia to attend NSCAD. Kyle, David Stephens and Chris Huntington founded the Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival. In 2013, Kyle is the featured artist at the 25th anniversary of the festival and an image of his work is on the poster.
